Trains of thought have no timetables.
Nor, if they did, would they keep
To schedule.
Trains of thought always pull in when
you are busy doing something else.
They require no ticket, no payment
only that you get on board and leave
your luggage behind.
Trains of thought have their own itineraries
And take you places you may otherwise
Never visit. Bring a notebook with you.
Trains of thought run on the fuel of
pure Imagination
Of which there are endless reserves.
Love this, my train of thought hit the buffers some time ago.

Great work with that one, John! Personally, I hate it when my train of thought runs off the rails …

Yes John, those ‘off the rails’ thoughts sometimes travel to interesting places though, so a writer shouldn’t always shoosh them right immediately!

…I also thought how they seem more like those overcrowded rides in India: I need to run to catch a place and cannot always find a spot. š

I never pictured a train of thought as being overcrowded; there’s a poem to write there, and the one about running along the platform to catch it
