they leap from dawdle to dash
in one second flat
at one moment hovering helicopters
the next fighter planes
daredevil pilots at the controls
coupling in mid-air as if refuelling
how do they do it?
sex on the run
& here comes junior, red-headed
as a matchstick, parents in tow,
learning the ropes

Dragonflies do have something in of the Maserati about them. I wonder if the Maserati logo is actually a simplified dragon fly with its wings on backwards. Lol. I like the red headed as a matchstick too. Great imagery.

luckily, Beth, I have kept most of my drafts going back to 1989; I revisit them from time to time and resurrect poems that show promise, rework them with the larger skills I now have , and voila! a little magic occurs 🙂

Coupling in the air, so I guess they’re part of the mile high club now. 🙂 But, since I know nothing about cars and probably could nit pick a Maserati out to save my life, I need more car details to fully enjoy the comparison.
