no, I didn’t, Neil; will check it out; I’m a great fan of The Kinks just as my partner, who is British, is a great fan of tea; me, I prefer coffee, for which the term ‘cuppa’ is not used π
I wrote it down exactly as the conversation took place; I thought, wow! that’s a weird simile: I will have to think about that — and I’m still thinking, is it a good simile or not? are secrets ‘dark and warm’?
I was about to ramble on about tea drinking but I feel so much βbubblingβ under the surface concerning it and words starting to form that I think I might have to do a ramble post about it! Which is good because itβs only mid blogtober and Iβve still got a way to go π
A lovely bit of micro poetry. π
I would not have been able to resist the temptation to make the last line, ‘Yes, like a soiled nappy!’
Sorry to lower the tone.π
Speaking of cuppa: do you know Have A Cuppa Tea, by The Kinks? Itβs on Muswell Hillbillies, which is one of my favorite Kinks albums.

dark, definitely possible. Warm, not so sure. Perhaps this person’s are, but I find secrets can often be cold causing shivers.

yes, but also shocking, sacred, safeguards

true; a poem would have to be a BIG poem to cover all these options: a haiku could never carry such a weight —

hahaha; yes, that would have changed the tone of the poem and as we poets know, tone is everything π
