Why do people I hang out with
all have perfect marriages?
No fall outs.
No break-ups.
Just Bill & Coo.
Sweethearts of the Rodeo.
Never a false step.
Never foot in the mouth.
How do they do it?
How?

Iām hoping one of your readers chime and share this secret as I also wonder. Now if you want to ask on what makes a relationship fail, I can easily share on that front. š I love your eternal hug statue. Perhaps the truth is in the friendship not the romance. Perhaps these two are friends, not lovers.

Lol. I hope I get some helpful responses on this one too, K; I’m going to have to hang out with people in failed relationships š

actually you’re right: ‘They never argue’, I said of one couple. “You’re never around when they do. a friend of theirs said. Then he gives in’ š

My answer to your question is: They don’t.
I think things are rarely as they seem to the outside world.
Discreet couples keep their troubles private. I’ve known some who’ve even kept their problems from one another. That is, until the divorce papers were served.
People are complex, aren’t they? š

I think Beth and Eden are right. It seems the marital relationship is the toughest one we face. I also believe it is worth every sacrifice. I gather it is the best place to learn by the grace of God what it means to love (whose opposite is apathy). At 76 I have a lot to learn. I do know our mutual faith in the Triune God is the glue that keeps our marriage together.

well, that certainly works for you; I think love and acceptance, the big ore, are key components; I am learning š

I doubt there are many married couples who never fight. But, as Eden said, I think people can be discreet.

Yes. I think it’s good advice. And, to be honest, it’s awkward when people do attempt public airings, don’t you think?

yes I do; it makes everyone vulnerable and pressured to take sides —

Appearances are deceptive. Would have to spy on them to know the truth. I guess there are better things to do though. A great observation, John. š
