she said with clear élan.
A little blemished.
Somewhat unfinished.
A strange fit of a man.
I’ve read yr text.
I know what’s next

Is she going to find him a toad? I’m intrigued, and wondering what’s awaiting her: man or amphibi-man.

that’s it, K: the lines came to me in a dream and when I awoke I dashed them down; that’s it: my Kubla Khan: I’m afraid to add anything: can you add to it, perhaps ? or should it be left as it is — unfinished?

Out of water, discolored skin, she wept her tears and wetted him. She would not leave his side again, this moment, sink or swim. ~It doesn’t need anything, as it’s wonderful as is. These are just my on the way to sleep thoughts.

a beautiful, romantic ending; thanks for that, K: the thoughts on the way to sleep are sometimes the most enticing and — eerie —

Some great lines in here, such as “a strange fit of a man.”

thanks, Neil; would never have thought of that line consciously: I had seen it written somewhere, made an impression and slipped into my subconscious 🙂

Strange…but that’s what I like. Well done John.

it is eerie — and that’s what I like about it too: the subconscious is good at things like that 🙂

I like the fun and frolic in this one. Seems it might get steamy too. 🙂

I love this line > ‘A strange fit of a man.’
It reminds me of the line in “Piano Man” …. ‘when I wore a younger man’s clothes’
A really fun piece of foreplay. 😉

I’ll be back in a few days’ time: I expect we’ll find him suitably chastised but not crushed: an under-cooked salmon is not a hanging offense 🙂
