small
slender
stubby handled
like the pen
I write with
snug as a haiku
in my hand
ready to stir

hahah; not sure where that line came from but it shoved its way onto the page when I had declared the poem finished; pushy haiku π

Love this one! That “snug as a haiku” line is brilliant. I have a favorite bowl and coffee mug, maybe I’ll be on the look our for a spoon next.

hahaha; it is good sometimes to celebrate the small, ordinary things in our life, like coffee mugs — I have a favourite one too; maybe my next poem π

π what irritates me is you go to ‘Muffin Break’ for a coffee and muffin and you get a HUGE fork!!!Can’t they afford smaller ones ????

The sort of instrument one holds on to, I would imagine. Delightfully witty.

yes, it’s the only spoon I use for my coffee; funny how we grow attached to small, ordinary everyday objects π

I have a bottle opener that I like a lot. Itβs green, shaped like a foot, and has five βtoenailsβ at the bottom.

Yes, skilful too to mix the ingredients. To stir out a blend

My cleaver. I love sharp knives and it’s versatile and fits well in my hand.
Your spoon sounds like the perfect fit for you. π
