The sweetness in a bitter cup of tea,
one spoonful of sugar less;
the eloquence in silence,
the sadness at the heart of jollity,
the pareidolia of seeing patterns
where there is none;
the pitter patter of a pandemic
coming down the pike

Really enjoyed the beginning and ending of this one

thanks; the ending surprised me: it popped into my head as I passed through the mall and would not go away so I figured it MUST be right 🙂

Hmmm, Do Pandemics Pitter Patter?

well, yes they do: in the beginning there was a pitter patter of news about a pandemic and then it grew louder and louder into the shrill crescendo we have heard for two years —

These paradoxes leave a lot to ponder. If absence means more than presence and of it is the longing that makes achieving possible.
Light stokes, heavy brush. Much enjoyed.

I could describe your writing using a million words and never say banal. Happy Friday, John. 💜

I think it pertains most frequently (that I know of) to images of Jesus in the oddest places — a cup of coffee, in food, inc clouds , and who knows what?!

yes, the ending just popped into my head while walking through the supermarket, and I said, yes! that’s a killer ending; wasn’t too sure what it meant but I knew it was something special 🙂

Let’s hope the ending stays that way. It’s been a long haul… Lovely creativity, John. 🙂

there are a few dull lines in the middle, Terveen, but the ending redeems it 🙂
