But What If I ….
I don’t think I can run anymore.
What?
I run out of puff. I can walk fast though. Does that count?
But you’re a running joke. Can’t you push yourself?
But what if I damage my hamstring?
Then you’ll become a lame joke. Get it?
Hey, I’m the one supposed to be cracking the jokes here.
Then run, for god-sakes, run.

You found your stride with this own, John. Talk about going the extra mile. As an amateur runner, I very much enjoyed this one.

thanks, K; it started with a comment I made to my wheelchair friend; I don’t think I can run anymore, I said, and the conversation took off; poor guy, he’s been in a chair since ’92 but mostly he’s even tempered and good fun; he’s one of our Friday group —

Walking fast ought to count! Have no puff myself!

yes, I used to run in 12 km ‘fun runs’ and a few marathons but have settled for brisk beach walks —-

Walking fast or briskly can be a slow run. Feel good in your shoes and take each step as it comes. But it’s great to be encouraged. 🙂

thanks Terveen; I walk briskly these days; it’s just as good as running, with less impact on the knees —

Haha, it’s like me after a brisk walk. I huff and I puff and I blow the house down!
