Kiss Curl .
I love the way the wind
plays with my hair
when I whisk along the road
windows wound down
twirls my comb-over
into a kiss curl
like Bill Hayley in the fifties.
Rock around the clock, baby.

do people still have kiss curls? they never seemed to take off in spite of Bill Hayley’s best efforts π

I don’t see them. But there’s got to be someone somewhere trying to bring them back into style.

I think they’re rare as hen’s teeth, Bob —

you don’t hear of kiss curls anymore; plenty about the mullet but none about kiss curls π¦

Kiss curls remind me of the 60s. I’m sure it’s a good look on you John!

hahaha; you’re most kind, Eden; it’s a hairstyle that appears to have come and gone; only a few reactionaries like me still sport it π

thanks K; I’ve had a few sly digs at my comb-over so I relished the chance to do a cocky little snip of a poem on it π

Now that’s a snazzy name for a curl. If the wind can do it, then you’re one of the lucky ones, John. π

Love the mood in this. It was a long time ago I could wish for any curl. Today it’s more like Elvis sang “when you gaze at your bald head, and wish you had hair”

I’m getting there, Ulle π don’t know that Elvis song —

Itβs from a Las Vegas recording when he loses it in βare you lonely tonightβ and just laughs trough the song. The laughter starts after he sings that line. You can probably find it on YouTube, try searching Elvis laughing song. π
