Maybe it was the Meds.
Maybe it was the meds
but I felt a little trippy
so when the nurse leaned over and said.
we’ll give your cannula a good flush in a minute
I said, O wow! It’s been a long time since I’ve had my cannula flushed
& the room broke up.
Rhianna and Jacob joined in the fun.
It was that kind of treatment room.
Don’t worry.
We all have our heads screwed on
but with the lids a little open
to let the silly in.
At first glance, I thought you said cannoli….I’d I thought, no, don’t flush all that sweet filling..😂 this post made me smile.

thank you K; I’ve got more posts on this but Calvary is a happy hospital. Only spent two days there so far but got over ten poems 🙂

Oh, can I check in, then? Sounds like the sort of place where there’s more than one kind of healing taking place. Glad. to hear you’ve mended, and taken some poetry to boot. 😊

🙂 haha; you would love it there; it specializes in all forms of cancer; it is warm and hospitable ;dare i say jolly — and the meals are to die for; ooops wrong metaphor; sadly I’ve put on 2ibs 😦

Sorry to hear you’re in hospital, John. And especially sorry that it’s one that specialises in all forms of cancer. Hope you’re okay. But glad it’s a nice hospital and that they look after you well and have good food!! Can’t do much better than that. And nothing like a bit of humour in a hospital!!

🙂 true; thanks Worms; btw the last three lines of the poem were directly inspired by the last few lines of your Kerouac poem —

you have to, Bob; it was inspired by the last few lines of Worms’ Kerouac poem; it’s good when one poem inspires another —

I am. I like being happy. I like to think it’s my default position. My inner clown likes his time upon the stage. He’s irrepressible. What can you do with such a guy 🙂
