Stranded.
I don’t want to be stranded
like Robinson Crusoe
on an island
of pain
with no rescue in sight
another weekend;
so, doc,
can you fill out
the prescription again
that one with real bite?

I recently watched George & Tammy, a good biopic about George Jones and Tammy Wynette. She was hooked on painkillers.

that would have been worth seeing, Neil; sad though; one o the best things Tammy ever did was her singing on the KLF classic of ’91 ‘Justified and Ancient’, still a rocking good song; sure lifts me π

Here’s hoping you get the script with some bite.

already got it, Bob: I’m obsessed with the concept of islands, so an ‘island of pain’ popped into my head; added the badgering tone at the end for a bit of lightness; you appreciate that, Bob, the need for leavening lightness π

Sure do! A bit of lightness really brings out the more somber tones.

Hope it helps, John. Pain is a bit too faithful companion worthy of stories but best kept at a distance.

just like the idea of metaphysical islands, Ulle; so one of pain was an obvious choice; ut , yes, Ulle, getting on top of it, added a humorous touch at the end: me badgering doc π

Oh how awful to be stranded without help on a weekend. May the doctor do you a good turn!
