They look more like gizmos than birds,
cartoonish cut-outs that flock outside
the house that time has marauded,
freaking out the orange tabby next door;
one gives me a mean-dog look
as I snap him with my camera:
you sneery snake perve, it says ;
‘bin chickens’, ‘dumpster divers’,
they look more like street people
scraggling for scraps than Sacred Ibis
I think their motto should I beak, I bin, I bis.
I love the line about the house that time has marauded. Excellent.

haha; I like that; it’s the first time I tried to capture animal language —

You and that orange tabby really should stop over reacting to the perfectly sacred ibises π

thank you for pointing this out; I am having a good hard talk with myself and that orange tabbby about showing our ibis friends more respect π

I think they’re beautiful, but a bit unusual looking, not a bad way to be described

yes, they are beautiful, as the Ray Stevens song says, in their own way but they really were a scrappy group; as for the one who gave me a mouthful …..

good on you, Beth; same here ; we don’t want to be too tame, too conventional π

We have Canadian Geese here, which are pretty large birds and can be very ornery. They will even chase you on occasion.

why do we have such ornery creatures, Bob? what purpose do they serve? And as for the language: I’ve never been called a ‘sneery, snake, perve’ before π¦ What’s that all about?

If I was called a “sneery, snake, perve” I’d have a smile on my face, though it was meant as an insult. Such a great line.

hahaha; yes, I thought that was a bit over the top too, Terveen ; my mother would have said: WASH YOUR MOUTH OUT WITH SOAP π

Mothers can be dramatic, John. We all know that. Lol.
