I could go for a walk but I can’t be buggered.
I could check my Facebook status but I can’t be buggered.
I could cut back the bush near the letter box so the postie can chuff past more easily on his motor scooter.
But I can’t be buggered.
I could put more effort in getting my next manuscript together — the editor is interested — but I can’t be buggered doing that either.
I almost can’t be buggered writing this poem about not being buggered.
Would rather curl up in the sun out the back with a good crime novel and lose myself in the plot.
In the words of the most wonderful Sir Terry Pratchett “The Hedgehog could never be buggered at all!”
Go with the book, it sounds like your brain needs a break.

btw I highly recommend ‘Truth’ to you; I am reading it now and it is brilliant; okay, it is crime fiction but it transcends the genre; Peter died in March sadly — a loss to Aussie fiction 😦

I just finished reading The Truth: Nothing But the Truth will Get Him killed by Jeffry W. Johnston. It is a YA mystery and thriller novel. Not that brilliant, but still fine to read. I added your book to my list. right now I am reading The Prime of Miss jean Brodie. I will tag you in my review!

thank you 🙂 ‘Truth’ is very good; some are calling it ‘the great Australian novel’ but that is a little excessive 🙂

Sunshine and crime novels…*sigh* such delights are forbidden fruits for me nowadays. :p I should really take more time to read than I do. But if I start, I can’t be ‘buggered’ to do anything else. Lol!
Write on, my friend!

🙂 I know the feeling: reading especially a good novel can take over your life — but there are worse ways to go 🙂
